No, article marketing is not dead no matter what you hear. What may be dead is posting the same article (spun but not very well) over and over again hoping to get backlinks or whatever. Our job here is to provide our readers with quality content that they really want and need. So, you say, what if I’m not a good writer or don’t know what to write.
There are many good article writing and content writing training programs out there. I first learned from one of the best, Jeff Herring, The Article Guy. His stuff is not necessarily inexpensive but it is always GREAT. You can get really good ideas on article marketing from him just by going to EzineArticles.com and searching for Jeff Herring. Read some of his articles.
I used to very confused and think that articles were just things that you submitted to “article directories” like Ezine Articles. However, blog posts are also often called articles. Blog posts are usually just a bit shorter than those submitted to article directories and don’t have a “resource box.” In fact, one of the great things Jeff teaches is how to draft a resource box that will lead your visitors to clicking through to your website for more information (but the article has to have good info for this to work).
Article Marketing is an important component of your online business especially when it comes to promoting your website. It can be your blog posts, articles or posts on other Web2.0 properties, articles on other blogger’s sites, or in article directories.
Another informative site for learning Article Marketing skills is a program called “Article Marketing Secrets.” This guy creates articles in 5 minutes that dominate the competition and suck 70% of the viewers to his website. Now, I’m not sure you can do this in 5 minutes (everyone’s results are different) but for a very small cost (like going to McDonalds), you can get some really valuable information about article writing and promotion.
Whatever you decide, keep in mind that even if you don’t like to write, it will get easier and easier as you learn new methods and as Nike says, “Just Do It.”
